The first AgroFresh Park in the Heart of Poland
AgroFreshPark Poland
For our Polish and Dutch partners, the unique partnership ‘AgroFreshPark Poland’ aims to develop the first sustainable, high-tech agro-logistics centre in Poland. The multidisciplinary composition of the partnership makes it possible to adopt a full chain approach.
Greater than the sum of its parts the advantages of the AgroFreshPark are manifold. While the different companies are no longer scattered over a wide area, but brought together within one integrated green park, producers, consumers, retailers, shippers will benefit. Inspired by Dutch concepts, but combined with local experiences, the AgroFreshPark guarantees large scale, high quality production of fresh food, flowers and plants. By interconnecting the participating companies, a faster response to the local and international market, lower costs and a better margin are assured. It furthermore will function as the direct link between the primary production centers and the retail and consumer markets, creating economies of scale for processing and packing companies and traders. By applying shared facilities for heat and cold storage, water and waste management systems, AgroFreshPark fully completes the chain.
SMART FOOD Solution for ASEAN delta cities
Vertical Farming Singapore
Urban farming is a high potential solution, especially in densely built areas like Singapore. The city is dominated by skyscrapers, but has little to no available agricultural land. As a result, up to 90 percent of its food is imported. However, skyscrapers do not only take up space, they also provide space. Millions of square meters in, on top of and underneath buildings can serve as the fertile ground for so called urban farms. Supplying the local food market, urban farms can make Singapore less dependent of import and create a promising new business market, that investors, urban farmers and retailers will benefit from.
For this, we choose the typical Dutch approach: open minded, inventive and collaborative. An approach has already led to the world-famous Delta works and the logistical hotspots of Rotterdam harbor and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Furthermore, the fact that we have become the world’s third supplier of food is partly due to the greenhouse fields in Westland, Fresh Park Venlo and Agriport A7. To achieve results like these, in the Netherlands as well as in Singapore, we conjoin the right parties – from farmer to supermarket -, knowledge and technology to create a sustainable chain solution that suits the Singapore situation, opens up a new market and thus contributes to the local economy.
